STS Grade 4+
Friday - Friday
Used to be the Captain's Beach Cabin (ref 3127)
Replaced with a bigger, highly insulated, newly built single storey beach house - completed May 2018.
Fall asleep and then wake up refreshed with the sound of the gently rolling sea when you stay at this fabulous re-designed and newly built detached beach cottage. Occupying a superb position on its own with magnificent sea views of Caernarfon Bay and the Eifl Mountains it is beautifully prepared and furnished. Stylish light fittings made of local driftwood adorn the high ceilings and wooden sighnages decorate the doors. A fully fitted kitchen, family bathroom with shower cubicle and ensuite shower room makes this a home from home that most of us would covet. Porpoises and seals are frequent early morning visitors to this coastline and if you like fishing or kayaking it's great place for sea bass and craggy shorelines. You will enjoy relaxing on the patio only yards from the beach near the small hamlet of Aberdesach and watch the orange glow of the sun descend below the watery horizon. The lounge area with 2 full length picture windows facing the sea ensuring you have the very best views possible while relaxing in front of the woodburing stove. The dining area has a further 2 picture windows and French doors to the patio. Listen to the crackle of the logs in the wood burning stove and watch the watery seascape as your relax and dine as you please. All three bedrooms, one en-suite, have sea or countryside views. Insulated with the highest quality materials, a Welsh slate roof and underfloor heating heated from the air sourced heat pump unit it will be cosy summer or winter. A small community run shop/garage in the historic village of Clynnog Fawr for your essentials is 1 mile down the road. If you can drag yourselves away from the beach, the nearest town is historic Caernarfon (6 mls). Medieval streets within the town walls hide curiosity shops, cafes, restaurants and now the steam trains of the Welsh Highland Railway starts it's journey from near the magnificent castle with it's prominent position on the harbour side. For a treat, try flights over Snowdonia from Caernarfon Airfield. Climb Snowdon from Llanberis lake (15 mls), visit Pwllheli (10 mls) marina, craft shops and a weekly market on Wednesday.

Mrs B (July 2019): "Beautiful property and location"
Mr N (July 2019): "So easy to book. Another fantastic holiday. Superb accommodation"
Mr A (July 2019): "The Beach House is just fantastic; the BEST place we have stayed ....... ever. It is modern (as only built last year), comfortable and has views that are impossible to describe with any justice. We spent every evening sitting on the veranda watching the sun go down over the sea with only a passing sea bird to disturb the tranquility (as I write this i'm smiling with the memories of this time last week)."
Mrs T (May 2019): "The accommodation was lovely as were the views very comfortable and everything finished to a high standard"
Mr B (May 2019): "Where to start and what to say? A more perfectly located and well maintained holiday property you will be hard pressed to find. The Captains Cabin itself having been lovingly upgraded and revamped is absolutely stunning. The amount of care and attention that has so obviously gone into the place is amazing. The 4 huge picture windows are definitely the star attraction, looking directly out over the rocky beach and sea, literally 20 feet away. Each and every room (2 doubles (1 en suite) and 1 twin) is presented and kept to a very high, immaculate standard. The kitchen is fitted with every appliance and accessory you will need, except perhaps a dish washer which is no big deal... go on, get your hands wet! There is also a washing machine in the adjoining shed, along with more patio furniture you can shake a stick at. The living room furniture is heavenly, so comfortable and perfectly placed to dazzle you with the views and sunsets whilst sipping a hot cup of tea and reading a book. (You will probably re read the same chapter over and over again as you can't stop looking up and soaking in the view every 30 seconds) There is a dining table that seats 6 people, a large flat screen tv with a built in dvd player and a bathroom that looks like it fell out from a Country Living magazine. Outside you have the patio area, accessed by the double doors from the kitchen at the side of the property. It's a small space but plenty big enough to relax if you are lucky enough to have fine weather and the kitchen is just a few steps away so you can keep your wine chilled in the fridge for a top up. A few feet away to the side of the patio is a ring of beach stones ready laid for a fire in the evening if you are so inclined. It was full of drift wood from the beach when we stayed there but decided to remove it and go buy some logs and sticks from the local Londis shop a couple of miles up the road. It was only a few quid and saved an afternoon of scouring the beach to replace the wood. The location of the Captains Cabin in Aberdesach is great, no there aren't any shops in the immediate area (Londis a couple of miles up the road is the nearest) but Caernarfon is a few miles away with a Tesco or a Morrisons for those sausages and bacon supplies. It's the perfect base to explore Snowdonia/Anglesea, so many places and sights to see and experience and they are all less than an hour away, so your not wasting half your day travelling (though even the travelling is a joy as a new sight awaits you around every corner) Last thoughts, as I've waffled on for long enough I think... Care, love, skill and hard work have gone into making the Captains Cabin what it is today. I would ask that you bear that in mind when staying there. Treat it with the love and respect that it and it's owners deserve. Thank you for reading this far! Enjoy!"
