STS Grade 4+
Friday - Friday
Fall asleep and then wake up refreshed with the sound of the gently rolling sea when you stay at this fabulous re-designed and newly built detached beach cottage. Occupying a superb position on its own with magnificent sea views of Caernarfon Bay and the Eifl Mountains it is beautifully prepared and furnished. Stylish light fittings made of local driftwood adorn the high ceilings and wooden signage decorate the doors. A fully fitted kitchen, family bathroom with shower cubicle and ensuite shower room makes this a home from home that most of us would covet. Porpoises and seals are frequent early morning visitors to this coastline and if you like fishing or kayaking it's great place for sea bass and craggy shorelines. You will enjoy relaxing on the patio only yards from the beach near the small hamlet of Aberdesach and watch the orange glow of the sun descend below the watery horizon. The lounge area with 2 full length picture windows facing the sea ensuring you have the very best views possible while relaxing in front of the woodburing stove. The dining area has a further 2 picture windows and French doors to the patio. Listen to the crackle of the logs in the wood burning stove and watch the watery seascape as your relax and dine as you please. All three bedrooms, one en-suite, have sea or countryside views. Insulated with the highest quality materials, a Welsh slate roof and underfloor heating heated from the air sourced heat pump unit it will be cosy summer or winter. A small community run shop/garage in the historic village of Clynnog Fawr for your essentials is 1 mile down the road. If you can drag yourselves away from the beach, the nearest town is historic Caernarfon (6 mls). Medieval streets within the town walls hide curiosity shops, cafes, restaurants and now the steam trains of the Welsh Highland Railway starts it's journey from near the magnificent castle with it's prominent position on the harbour side. For a treat, try flights over Snowdonia from Caernarfon Airfield. Climb Snowdon from Llanberis lake (15 mls), visit Pwllheli (10 mls) marina, craft shops and a weekly market on Wednesday.

Mr L "We thoroughly recommend this property. The location is as magical as the photographs suggest. You really could not be closer to the sea without getting wet. The views are spectacular but can be enjoyed in great comfort due to the numerous windows and great insulation. The kitchen is very well equipped and the living room very pleasant. Bathrooms clean, tidy and comfortable too. Our only grumbles are a desire for firmer mattresses and why the meter charge for electricity? The thermostats are set and guests are asked not to tinker with them, so there's hardly much danger of excessive electricity use. It seems petty."
I&P (October 2021): "Just wanted to say how very much we enjoyed our stay in your cabin. You must be very proud of it and you should be!! We go away three times a year and have done so for last five years or so - all self-catering - and your cabin is the best we have stayed at. Its decor, preparation and cleanliness is excellent. I became quite protective of it. We loved it so much we are going to look later to see if there are any vacancies next year - very unusual for us as we don't stay at properties twice. Thanks again."
Mr Morris (April 2021): "Captain's House is beautifully designed and sits in a perfect beach location. A great place to relax yet with plenty of places to visit nearby. We will certainly be booking again. Highly recommended."
Mrs B-J (October 2020): "Clean, cozy, home from home. Excellent location. Any bad weather does not spoil being here. One can watch the sea in all it's moods. Ideal for wildlife watchers, good walks and central to visiting other attractions"
Ms Thomas. (March 2020): "Best place I have ever stayed in terms of location, comfort and facilities."
Mrs O (Jan 2020): "Beautiful house which has been well thought out, comfortable and cosy with amazing views. We wanted somewhere that we could relax and recharge our batteries and this was definitely the place, would definitely stay again."
Ms W (Nov 2019): "Absolutely gorgeous place, location beautiful, and Captains beach house was fabulous, the owners were very helpful and friendly. It was so nice booked up again for next year."
Mr S (Nov 2019): "Beautiful beach house in stunning location. Immaculately presented throughout. Great base to visit many places."
Mrs W (Sept 2019): "Beautiful break would definitely book again. Views were gorgeous through the large windows in the day and evening. Decor fabulous. Modern but with character. Very relaxing week. Owners very helpful and friendly. Although had to take pound coins for electric only used approx 15 pounds with electric left so need not of panicked with changing as many pound coins as we did. Most relaxing holiday ever. Make sure you take walking boots to enjoy walks along the beach . Wanted to book again for next year but already booked !!"
The E Family (Oct 2019): "Lovely property in perfect location. I have given 4 stars as there is no dishwasher, pay for electric via coin meter and finally that the heating is not controllable."
Mrs B (July 2019): "Beautiful property and location"
Mr N (July 2019): "So easy to book. Another fantastic holiday. Superb accommodation"
Mr A (July 2019): "The Beach House is just fantastic; the BEST place we have stayed ....... ever. It is modern (as only built last year), comfortable and has views that are impossible to describe with any justice. We spent every evening sitting on the veranda watching the sun go down over the sea with only a passing sea bird to disturb the tranquility (as I write this i'm smiling with the memories of this time last week)."
Mrs T (May 2019): "The accommodation was lovely as were the views very comfortable and everything finished to a high standard"
