Stylishly presented, this superb two bedroomed ground floor property offers excellent, comfortable accommodation and occupies a prime position on South Snowdon Wharf.
From the lounge, the patio doors open to a larger than average terrace with seating and dining table where guests can enjoy sitting and watching the yachts go to and fro whist also taking in the views of Ballast Island, Harlech and the harbour. Binoculars are provided to spot the varied wildlife on the water. The apartment is conveniently located, being a short walk to Porthmadog with everything the town has to offer, yet the situation guarantees relaxing tranquillity whilst overlooking the water of the estuary. A short walk from the property will lead you to the Ffestiniog Railway and Welsh Highland railway and the station's popular bar/restaurant. Wildlife walks along the causeway with migrant wetland birds and Ospreys in the summer months. Snowdon and Beddgelert (7 miles), Portmeirion Italianate styled village (3 miles). Harlech, a World Heritage Site, with its majestic castle stands 10 miles away. Black Rock Sands beach is 3 miles away. The beach has fine golden sands and stretches for 2 miles with many facilities. Cars can be parked on the beach at a cost of £5/day. Beautiful Borth-y-Gest is a 20 minute walk away.

KITCHEN AREA: Electric combination oven/microwave and induction hob (a Guest commented; "The hob works very well and we cooked on it frequently. It’s not an induction hob though- it’s a radiant ring type"). Fridge with freezer compartment. Views across the harbour and out to sea.
LOUNGE AREA: Comfortable seating for four, wall-mounted Smart TV. Dining table and chairs.
GROUNDS: Patio overlooking the waterfront with garden furniture.

JS (July 2024): 4 STARS "Wonderful views from harbour flat. This property is perfectly situated, with views down the channel leading from Porthmadog harbour to the sea. The main bedroom was comfortable and we used the second bedroom for storage. Cooking facilities in the kitchen are limited, with just a two ring radiant hob and a combination microwave/ oven. The microwave/ oven appliance is difficult to operate, relying totally on a touch screen and without any knobs or push buttons. Fine for use at home when the learning curve is completed, but far from ideal when it has to be mastered at the start of a holiday. The hot water supply is limited, running cold after filling a single washing up bowl. The hot water in the bathroom for the basin is dangerously hot. A larger hot water boiler set to a safer temperature is badly needed. The boiling water tap works well and is fine. The bathroom shower is good, with plenty of flow. The heated bathroom mirror is an excellent feature for shaving after a shower. Due an upgrade, but a lot can be forgiven for the view." After cleaning put right and beds made by STS all well. STS provided a kind apology bag. Nice flat. I would have liked rails in shower. Lovely view. Comfortable beds."

Hearing the steam trains at Porth Madog station was lovely too. The flat was well equipped, although a little “bijou” shall we say, comfortable for our party of two people and a little dog, but could be a tight squeeze for four. Lovely decor and very up to date. The only drawback was that the shower had not been cleaned properly, there were old soap tablets left on the soap dish and the container for the bath mat and shower squeegee was very dirty, however, the rest of the flat was very clean. The patio area was a lovely sun trap in the late afternoon and evening, very nice to sit outside and look at the boats bobbing about. The accommodation was very good and the instructions for keys, parking etc. etc. were clear and easy to follow (always a bonus when going somewhere new). A microwave would have been a useful addition to the kitchen and I was a little surprised that we were asked to leave the property tidy and clean. Tidy - no problem as we always do this anyway, but clean! I felt that this was a bit cheeky as upto now I've never been asked to clean somewhere before we leave, but no big deal. Job done"
JS (June 2023): 4.8 STARS "A perfect location for a holiday in Porthmadog. An excellent location on South Snowdon Quay, with fantastic views all round. The property catches afternoon sun perfectly and the patio area is well shielded from passing walkers with the bushes in front. It’s expensive, but of high quality. The main bedroom is well shielded from the sun and stayed cool during the recent heatwave. There was a complaint from the visitors before us about the bench on the patio being “unsafe”. We managed fine with it, just by resting the back against the wall to steady it. Some of the joints have worked a bit loose, but it’s easily fixed. Take out the screws, open the joints, feed some wood glue in to the joints and reassemble. A fuss about nothing! The same comment applies to the combination oven and microwave which some users seem to find hard to operate. The instructions are good and operation is quite intuitive. We found it very useful. The air boosted electric shower is excellent and manages to provide plenty of flow. The limited hot water capacity for wash basin and sink has to be managed carefully, but we soon got used to it. The combination hot/cold/boiling water tap worked very well, but is starting to work loose where it passes through the worktop. A five minute job for a plumber or competent handyman re-tightening the securing nut underneath. Some minor amendments to the visitor information pack. The hob works very well and we cooked on it frequently. It’s not an induction hob though- it’s a radiant ring type. Worth also mentioning that the excellent illuminated and heated mirror in the bathroom is activated by pressing the touch button in the centre mirror panel. We recharged the cordless electric vacuum cleaner before use because the battery was flat and recharged again afterwards for the next user. Maybe one to mention in the visitor instructions. ACCESS STATEMENT
This is a ground floor apartment with the front door situated approx. 25 yards away from the allocated car parking space. Whilst the accommodation is all level throughout there is one step at the front door (and also at the patio door) and this coupled with restricted width would not prove suitable for wheelchair users.
All rooms open off a hallway which runs left to right inside the front door, except the internal bedroom which opens into an open-plan living room / kitchen..
The double bedroom has bedside lights in addition to the main ceiling light and power points at skirting board level. The twin room has bedside lights on a centre table between the beds. The shower room has wash basin, WC and an electric shower in a large oblong shower cubicle.
The sitting room has additional lighting Freeview TV. In the galley kitchen points are at working top level.
Heating is by way of electric heaters.
Very well appointed flat with everything we needed for a very pleasant stay. Lovely views of the harbour and Balast Island. Because we visited after the schools had gone back, it was also very quiet and peaceful. Ideal place if you need to relax and chill a while. We would definitely recommend it and will no doubt rebook in the future.

We did call at your office and reported a very black shower anti slip mat - we were promised a replacement the next day but this never arrived!

A compact flat for 2 adults with excellent views of the harbour. Very convenient for Welsh Highland Railway and town.
Delighted. We hope to be back sometime soon. My wife is handicapped so getting sorted for leaving by 10 am was last minute pressure, 11 am would have been more relaxing. Pity the rain can enter onto the patio through the above one. As we had plenty of rain it meant little use could be made of it.
