Ysgol Jos Bach, CaernarfonRef: 2016
Fancy a castle as your neighbour? Caernarfon Castle is just down the road from 'Ysgol Jos Bach' ( Small Jones' School) which occupies an elevated position above the Harbour and Steam Train Welsh Highland Railway line in Caernarfon. Discretely situated on South Road and dating from the early 19th Century this little school house has been cleverly converted into a lovely spacious modern holiday home in one of the most historic towns in North Wales. Access is down some historic steps to the grand oak doors to accommodation which is on 3 levels ( Lower Ground, Ground and Gallery), with two full bathrooms/shower rooms and a full length balcony with southerly views of the harbour, Menai Straits and Caernarfon Castle. The spacious living room is comfortably furnished with contemporary furniture with a large galleried bedroom above. The old walled town of Caernarfon is half a mile away where historic taverns and small restaurants are secreted within the walls. From the doorstep the old granite steps leads down to the harbour and the narrow gauge Harbour Train Station and Castle. There is an excellent cycle path (1/4 mile) from the harbour along the old railway line. Excellent sandy beach at Dinas Dinlle (6 miles) and only 8 miles from Snowdon.
