Home. I'm biased as I come from Trawsfynydd and now live in Luxembourg. I regard Tan Llan Cottage always as my home. It's perfect for my needs. It's so clean and necessary provisions are there until you can get to the amazing village shop. There's even a hot water bottle and washing pegs. Your mother couldn't look after you better. I miss it so much."
DP (New Year's Eve 2024): Excellent "A beautiful cottage to get away from all stresses and explore this part of Wales and Snowdonia - warm, cosy, historic (with thick 17th century beams), spotlessly clean, a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds and linens, and a lovely bathroom with a hot electric shower. The local shop/post office has everything you need too. But it is the local owner who makes this a special place to stay, welcoming us after we arrived to make sure we were comfortable, and providing a hamper of Welsh produce that we enjoyed all week - and also coming to the rescue after we locked ourselves out. Anyone wanting to experience real Welsh hospitality - and support a local business - will have a wonderful time here like we did."
DC (September 2023): 4.3 STARS "Quirky little cottage. Nice traditional cottage in a pleasant part of Wales, not really suitable for those with mobility issues as the stairs are steep and the bathroom is downstairs. Comfortably furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Centrally located for Snowdonia and the surrounding area. Julie was very helpful and we appreciated the goodies"
DG (June 2023): Excellent "Paradise away from the maddening crowds. I am so biased because it's my village. I have never seen a view better than what you see from the back and front of the cottage. The cottage itself is as it was years ago but tastefully renovated for comfort and warmth. It's in the Snowdonia National Park so it has to remain a certain way. It is special with special people in charge of it. It's beautiful"
BB (September 2022): Excellent "A Lovely Old Cottage. My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tan Llan Cottage. It was clean & full of 'old world' charm. Our host/landlady was very friendly & full of information & she had left an incredibly full 'welcome pack' for us. If we come to N. Wales again we will definitely stay there again !"
DG (July 2022): Excellent "Heaven. I'm biased in my review as I was born in Trawsfynydd!! I've rented No 1 Tan Llan for many years. After their renovation the cottage is perfect. I had everything I wanted and more than I expected. There was milk in the fridge, coffee, tea and sugar in abundance, fresh flowers in the window and a tuck basket on the table. Oops - nearly forgot - Prosecco cooling in the fridge. It was spic and span clean. It's very, very hard to come back to reality here in Luxembourg. God willing - I shall be back next May."
Mrs C (July 2021):Excellent "We spent a wonderful week in number Tan Llan Cottage. The cottage was very comfortable, light and airy, it has a terrace area where you can eat with a view of the hills around. J and her family are helpful and friendly. The cottage is situated very close to the Trawsfyndd lake where we were able to paddle board, it also has a good cycle or walking path around the lake. We definitely hope to stay in the cottage again! I have kept it short but if you think more would help I can add more! We had a great week and J was a great host, not least because of the generous welcome pack. Thank you for your help"
Mr & Mrs R (June 2021): Excellent "Great place, amazing host, central location, fresh air, very clean and comfortable place - honestly, what else could you wish for in life?! Will come again."
Mr & Mrs H (May 2021): Excellent "Beautiful little cottage in a great location. It had everything we needed and Julie the host was lovely."
The G Family (May 2021): Good "We had a great weekend in this charming cottage in the hart of Snowdonia. A great location for many outdoor activities."

A beautiful holiday home that has all you need for a perfect holiday in Wales. It's a great location to get to explore the lovely area and beautiful views of the lake. Not far from other areas either which is great. The hosts were very friendly and available if needed. Highly recommended we will be back!
