"Second visit to paradise. This was our second time at the house and it did not disappoint. The surroundings were amazing and we explored the nearest peak to see views for miles. The children loved rafting in bodyboards down the river and exploring the copper mines. We visited some attractions such as the Cysyllte aqueduct which was spectacular, some of the wonderful castles and Bodnant gardens was beautiful. Dafydd and Manon are so lovely and we enjoyed a few little chats with Dafydd who provided us with information and maps which helped us explore further. The house is cosy with everything we needed and we enjoyed several nights in eating around the table together. We hope to be back next year"
JK (August 2023): 5 STARS "A comfortable, clean house with everything you need for a great holiday. Hosts are very knowledgable and welcoming, a lovely welcome pack was very thoughtful. Location is stunning, the narrow lanes to get there take some negotiating but it’s worth it when you arrive at the house. It would have been perfect for star gazing had the weather permitted. Great for a digital detox and for getting out in the fresh air. Definitely a place to go back to"
NJ-H (September 2022): 5 STARS "Spectacular surroundings with amazing views. What an amazing place. Dafydd was so friendly and helpful and the house was cosy and had everything we needed. The surrounding area was breathtaking and we all enjoyed the seclusion and peace. The children loved building a damn and the Dog had the freedom to roam free . I can’t recommend this place enough and we will definitely be returning. Plenty to do within the grounds and a great base for exploring North Wales and Anglesey. Thank you so much .. this was exactly the break we all needed"
JL (July 2022): 5 STARS "Beautiful location in mountains. Clean, comfortable and peaceful home high in the Welsh mountains surrounded by walks, sheep and fields. The natural pool at the end of the drive is perfect for safe bathing and very welcome in Summer. Dafydd is lively - a friendly and informative host who can give you pointers on any of the local walks if you need them. We’ve stayed here 3 times already and will hopefully be back next Summer."
Mr & Mrs C.T. (July, 2017): "Such a warm, cosy, well equiped cottage. Set in a breath taking location"
Mr & Mrs C (July, 2017): "Thank you for the gorgeous holiday! Being here was totaly an increadible experence. The house, farm and beauty here exceeded all our expectations."
Mr & Mrs E (Sept, 2015): "Just a quick email about our stay at Swallow's Nest. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was wonderful to be able to take our dog with us, who enjoyed a swim in the near by stream everyday. The location in conveniently situated to some of the most lovely visitor attractions but it was so nice to return to the tranquillity of the valley in the evening. Our hosts could not have been more helpful, even leaving Welsh cakes for our arrival. Please extend our thanks and best wishes to them."
Mr P (Sept, 2015): "My sister and I loved Swallow's Nest, its remoteness, the incredible beauty of Cwm Pennant, the warm homeliness of the house and the friendliness of the owners. It was ideal for us as we enjoy being away from the 'madding crowd'. Highlights of the week were travelling on the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways and the day spent at the Lloyd George museum and cottage."
Mrs T (August, 2015): "We had a great time at Swallows Nest. It was well equipped and beautifully clean throughout. The decor is quite dated but it suited the house and the immaculate cleanliness made up for that. The owners were available if we had any problems, which we didn't. The setting is amazing, well off the beaten track, and there are good walks from the door. It does take a while to get anywhere as the house is at the end of the valley but the views and seclusion were worth that small sacrifice. We would go there again."
Mr S (August, 2015): "It was excellent thank you, the house was in a great location and the amenities in the house and instructions were very good. The owner was also on hand given he works a 100 yds away and very accommodating and nice. Definitely a house that would be hard to beat in Snowdonia I suspect."

One of the greatest wilderness places i have ever stayed at, to draw back the curtains in the morning to the great scenery outside was stunning even if it was pouring with rain. Ventured out on our mountain bikes on the Lon Eifion cycle path to caernarfon then a ride to the massive Cricceth beach and a cross country ride to Ffestiniog. Great place, great stay, loved every minute. Look forward to a return.
