Parking is within 15ft of the front door. There is one step into the property. The two bedrooms and bathroom are on the ground floor. The master bedroom is quite spacious, but the twin bedroom is compact. The bathroom has been extended and has a bath with a shower over it. The bath has integral handles half way down its length. There is a dog leg stair case to the first floor where the open plan living room is. There is a bannister on the right hand side as you ascend the stairs. the stairs opens straight into the kitchen area and it is not considered suitable for small children. Patio doors open onto the large balcony where there are patio furniture.
The ship type ladder should only be used in emergencies - such as a fire downstairs blocking the normal exit route.
We regularly book this apartment. The reason is it`s dog friendly, the view is amazing in all weathers, it`s comfortable, the location for up or down the coast is good, it`s clean and it has a parking space.
We were looking to book it again in October but someone has beaten us to the week, we`ll have to see if we can get down later in the year.
Had a great holiday. Second time this year in this apartment. Wonderful views over the estuary and the cob (particularly if you like steam trains). Porthmadog is an ideal location for snowdonia (slate museum at Llanberis), castles (Harlech, Criccieth, Caernarfon and Conwy) and gardens (Portmeirion and Bodnant Gardens).
A lovely apartment in a good location for Porthmadog and for exploring the area. Clean and comfortable. The view is changeable and enjoyable in all weathers. Important to us it`s dog friendly.
We had every thing we needed to be self catering ( we could have used an airer for damp clothes for some days ).
STS Holidays is very easy to book on online and friendly if booking by phone with questions.
We have already booked for next year.
Wonderful welcoming home with the addition of beautiful views and facilities.
Everything you want is within the property and this is situated within a town that fulfills other needs.
Excellent location with outstanding views. Well well equipped although would have been useful to have wi-fi.
We have stayed many times in Porthmadog and this was the best one yet. Spacious with lovely views of the Cob and estuary, great for spotting birds (and steam trains). All helped by fabulous weather.
We loved the location of the apartment with stunning panoramic terrace where we enjoyed the spring sunshine for breakfasts and drinks. It was great having the bifold doors, and the easy chairs by the window. We've stayed a few times at SSW so know the development, and love the upside houses with views. Apartment was well equipped (though I only noticed the lack of wifi last minute so brought a DVD player and Wii for the kids, would a have been slightly stuck otherwise). We had a great stay, our kids absolutely loved it - walks to Borth y Gest, trip to Portmeirion, drive to Beddgelert and round Snowdonia for walks, trip on the train to Bleneau Ffestidiog, trips to Harlech castle town and beach, Sygun Copper mine, Black Rock Sands and Criccieth - there's so much to do and we were very fortunate with the weather, lots of sunshine and only one day of rain. The property was generally nice and clean (but under the beds in the kids room could do with a spring clean!).
Little blip with storage heater when first arrived but sorted next day, excellent service.
The views are breathtaking. And got to see many migrating birds. The recliner chairs! I want them! the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in.
Thank you for wonderful stay we will be back, just to sit in those chairs
A very pleasant and comfortable villa to stay at in a very nice town.plenty of things to do and amenities. The Ffestiniog railway excellent.
We return to this apartment year after year. Why? Because it is in a perfect location to sit and relax and also for travelling around the area. It is dog friendly and very comfortable. I have only given a 4 on value for money because if it was cheaper we could visit more often, that is the only reason ............. is selfishness.
A wonderful late summer for Wales which enabled us to make full use of the large sun balcony. This house is truly a home from home with all the facilities needed. We have been here several times and already booked for next year. The location is excellent being on the edge of town. There is a good bus service and obviously several trains. Restaurants are plentiful plus additional independent shops and supermarkets.
The apartment is in an excelleent location and has had some nice improvements recently - but the umbrella is broken and the decking really wants replacing and painting with Genuine Sadolin - some securing screws are sticking out and a danger to ppl with just socks or just bare feet
The plastic sheeting round the decking needs either replacing or a proper clean
Pottery is fine Portmerion but the knives and forks are are a random selection - the big frying pan is no longer non-stick
Holiday has been fine but we hope these comments are useful - and you asked!!!
We were very pleased with our stay, as there was so much to see from the apartment without having to go too far. The weather could have been kinder, but it did not matter. We would go again, as it was one of the nicest places we have stayed.
The bed was comfortable, as were the chairs and settee. So much room, also the balcony was great.
On
This accommodation is in a great location, (near the Ffestiniog railway, High Street, supermarkets and also only 15 mins walk from the mainline railway station). It's the view that is the biggest feature of the villa..and the large balcony with bi folding doors ensure you can make the ,most of it! The villa is spacious for 2, but the 2nd bedroom is tight on space. There's ample storage.
We've stayed here a few times and It was good to see some new furniture in the lounge area. It could do with a some updating/tidying in places.
