Guest Feedback:
IF (November 2023): 4.3 STARS
"Enjoyable family break. Sea View House is in a fantastic location. As it suggests, genuine sea views, and a 5 minute walk to a good beach. The house is accessed by steep stairs which are not for the faint hearted when carrying luggage etc. Kitchen and Bathrooms are relatively modern and well equipped, living rooms and bedrooms are older style but still comfortable. Overall the house is good for a family break, although a little expensive for out of season"
KW (November 2023): 3.3 STARS "The location was spectacular. We enjoyed sitting on the picnic table with our coffee every morning. The facilities in the home were great to have. Good having the utility to dry off dogs and keep our wet sand clothes . Unfortunately the cleanliness of the house was a little below our other experiences when on vacation. Overall it was ok. Thank you" Thank you for your feedback, we have passed on your review to the owner of the house for them to review this matter with their cleaners.
MM (September 2023): 3.3 STARS "We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the house where our father grew up. Magnificent views! We had a wonderful time enjoying Borth-y-gest and the surrounding countryside. Bae Borth was a great cafe. We felt that the house could do with a bit of a spring clean- ie downstairs shower, oven etc." Thank you for your feedback, we have passed on your comments to the property owners and cleaning team.
AT (August 2023): 4.5 STARS "A lovely house in a perfect situation. We have been to this house for several years and find it perfect for all the family particularly with its position so close to the beach"
DE (June 2023): 4.3 STARS "Watching the tides. A relaxing week spent watching the ever changing tidal situation in the bay. Stunning views also of the mountains around Harlech opposite. Enjoyed strolls into Porthmadog and also used bus service which is frequent and cheap. A good half day out spent at the Osprey Centre near Tremadog"
PMcC (June 2023): 5 STARS "Happy families. Having holidayed there before in 2016 your new improvement ie dishwasher, New kitchen lovely down stairs shower room was a lovely touch all in all everything was perfect. We will be returning"
IF (October 2022): 4.3 STARS "Fantastic location, house is slightly tired in places, access issue will make it unsuitable for some. Borth y Gest and surrounding areas are excellent for beach, and walking holidays and the house is well placed for both. Property is spacious, with good sized rooms. some furniture close to end of life (eg bedroom wardrobes), but generally ok. Access will make it difficult for some, and garden is also unsuitable for some. Note also that it isn't fully enclosed. Overall, had a great holiday and would certainly consider returning" Thanks for the Feedback - The Property Owner have done updates at the property in Winter 2022 and there are now new cleaners and updated photos online.
HS (September 2022): 4.3 STARS "Very good house. The house is in a great location with views across the estuary. It was very well equipped and had everything one might need re: catering/household requirements. The instruction pack was thorough & very helpful. Very comfortable beds/bedding & an excellent downstairs wet room/shower. The only caveat I would add is the large number of steps up to the house could be a problem for for the less mobile or elderly, but the website makes this very clear in advance. A great stay, thank you"
DE (September 2022): 4.7 STARS "A Perfect Location. My wife , her sister and me have just enjoyed a wonderful week in this spacious house watching the estuary fill up and then empty almost completely within a space of hours . The backdrop of the mountains opposite , around Harlech , adding to the scenery . We are all around the 70 age and treated the 25 steps upto the house as a challenge . It was only a bit of a struggle on arrrival and departure with the cases etc . The village is down the hill about 250 metres where you will find a picturesque harbour . It never gets too crowded . There is a good Sea View restaurant and take away there but it is closed on Monday and Tuesday . Very popular so advisable to book , even for breakfast . Portmadoc is only a 15 minute walk along the coastal path and has all the shops and well worth a visit . Overall , this house is one of the best that we have ever stopped in. In fact we have booked again for 2023" Thanks for the Review. With regards parties with potential mobility issues, please click on the Acess button (see above) where you can view the Access Statement for the property - where the steps etc are mentioned.
AT (September 2022):Excellent "We find the house an excellent choice and STS are always very helpful. We have been to this house for many years and have booked again for next year. The position is excellent and splendid for families as it is very close to the beach and within easy reach of Porthmadog for shopping and crabbing.
We were pleased to see that the kitchen has been updated and that the instructions for using the various pieces of equipment are in a prominent position (However, explicit instructions for e.g. unlocking the induction hob etc can't be found. These would, if provided, save much time and frustration!) There's a splendid fridge as well as another smaller one. It is a good idea as well that pieces of lovely furniture have been covered with glass etc to protect them, which removes some of the worry. It's a spacious, comfortable, well appointed property in a great position."
Thanks for the Feedback - which is passed on to Property Owner.
PW (April 2022): Excellent "Very well presented house with a view to die for. Very comfortable house with a very well equipped kitchen. I called in at STD office and suggested that a hair dryer and two more comfortable garden chairs would be a good addition. They were amazing in providing both the dryer and the chairs the same day. Would certainly recommend them and the house to anyone"
Mrs R (August 2019): Excellent "Amazing house, fully equipped, fire was lovely, beautiful views.. beds comfy, will be returning if available same time next year, kids loved the board games. Had a well rested week."
Mr T: "We had a very good week in an interesting house that I would recommend to anyone. We couldn't help but admire and enjoy the ever changing views from the property and its garden. From opening the curtains in the morning we would notice the light and the state of the tide. It certainly has position x3. Thanks for helping have a much needed week away."
The R Family: "Wonderful beach, spectacular scenery, lovely comfortable house - what more could you ask for?"
The T Family: "The house is A grade. It felt like home. Stunning views, great beach, the quietness, over all a wonderful holiday. We will be back. Thank you."
The L Family: "Walking, swimming, cycling, sandcastle building, car trips and train rides! Good job we had this lovely house to recharge our batteries. FAB holiday. Thank you!"
3 Generations of Whitakers: "Good property in SUPERB location - lots of hours on the beach along with other activities nearby. Wonderful hols."

Parking is at the bottom of the garden in front of the garage. Access to the property is up 29 steps which are a mixture of concrete steps and slate steps, some of which are slanting. There is a hand rail on the left hand side some of the way. The doors are all of standard width and the staircase has the normal 13 steps with a handrail on one side. There is a patio to the back which is of crazy paving and is slightly un even. There are 8 more steps to the lawn at the back where the washing line is. The garden continues to slope upwards to the top garden where there is a bench and a green house. This garden is not considered suitable for the infirm or toddlers.
