Description

STS Grade 3+
Superb views of the sea, the mountainous coastline of Snowdonia and the Llyn Peninsula can be viewed from this cosy, well-presented detached chalet bungalow situated on the seafront near the village of Llandanwng, 2 miles south of Harlech. The lounge and one of the bedrooms have patio doors to take full advantage of the views and lead on to a spacious deck set in well-tended floral garden from which the same views can be enjoyed. Llandanwg beach, a sandy beach with rock pools, is only a ten minute walk from the chalet. There are many sandy beaches which are safe for swimming in the area, one of the most magnificent is nearby Harlech beach. The mountains of Snowdonia dominate the skyline, so mountain and coastal walks abound in the area. The pretty medieval town of Harlech, dominated by its castle, has a theatre, leisure centre, Royal St. David's Golf Course, good restaurants and interesting shops. Barmouth, a harbour town, is situated in a most picturesque location with many shops, a small funfair and a sandy beach (10mls). Porthmadog (10 ml), another attractive harbour town, is home to the Ffestininog Steam Railway and the Welsh Highland Railway. It is also near the attractive Italianate village of Portmeirion. The station on the Cambrian Coast Railway is a few hundred yards away with services to Harlech, Porthmadog, Criccieth and Pwllheli in one direction, and services to Barmouth, Fairbourne, Aberdyfi, and Machynlleth (with connections to Shrewsbury) to the South.

2 BEDROOMS: 1 Kingsize bed with sea views, 1 Twin room. Bed linen provided. Note that in the event of a fire, that escape from the twin bedroom may have to be made from the window, and that the two bedrooms could be cut-off from one another.

Guest Feedback:
DM (April 2024): 4.8 STARS
"We visited Llandanwg with two young grandchildren and the cottage was perfect for our needs with the minor issues of a very weak hot water pressure in the kitchen and a very inconsistent shower temperature which meant we could not allow the children to use it. The owner did very kindly warn us of this prior to our visit however, and also very considerately warned us that some building work next door might be a noise concern. This was no problem however as we were fully occupied elsewhere with the many beaches, cafes and walks which can be so easily accessed from the cottage. We would happily return." Thanks for the Feedback, which are always passed on to Property Owners.
MB (November 2023): 4.7 STARS "Another fantastic week overlooking an ever changing amazing sea view. Bungalow was very clean, tidy and well equipped but a few things needed sorting- broken bedroom drawer, kitchen cupboard door missing and kitchen kick board fell off when we closed the fridge door! Felt a little let down as we were probably the last of the year to stay but still paid a good amount to so. Therefore expected things to be perfect. However, this won’t stop us from returning to this fantastic spot!" Thanks for the Review, which are always passed on to the Property Owner for their attention. Please report all issues as soon as you can.
BP (October 2023): 4.7 STARS "Excellent location. Great break, very relaxing environment. Amazing views and sunsets. The accommodation was super clean and all facilities working. We have just booked a return visit for April 24"
KH (October 2023): 5 STARS "Wonderful views, comfortable and well appointed bungalow. Ideally suited my wife and I for a late summer/early autumn break. Perfect location as a base to explore Snowdonia national park and return to a beautiful sunset"
ME (July 2023): 3.7 STARS "Beautiful Views. Firstly, the view from here is perfect, beautiful sunsets, quiet and so relaxing. I would call the accommodation a chalet not a bungalow. It was smaller than I expected but overall it was comfortable. Kitchen has everything needed to be self catering except hot water! No matter what time of day we ran the tap it was cold, dishwasher was very handy. I enjoy a bath on holiday as we don’t have one at home and again getting a hot bath was a mission. The garden as others say is not dog escape proof, we bought a wind breaker and put it across in front of our car so they couldn’t get out. Others have said it’s dirty, I wouldn’t say that. Maybe a bit of dust left here and there but wasn’t an issue to us. Would I stay again, possibly for the garden views out to sea as they to me was just perfect." Thanks for the Review - which are always passed on to the Property Owner. Please report issues as soon as they arise.

KH (May 2023): 4.8 STARS "Stunning. The bungalow was in an excellent location, with stunning sea views ideal location to access the surrounding area, beautiful beach, but the dog beach is not brilliant - but there are plenty of other areas to walk your dog"
MO (March 2023): 5 STARS "Lovely and peaceful. We had a fantastic stay despite the weather. The bungalow is clean and private. It was wonderful to be by the sea.The train is a bonus and a lovely way to travel to nearby towns and walks. We would definitely like to return"
MB (October 2022): 5 STARS "Everything catered for with an amazing view! Fantastic location overlooking the sea with a lovely garden having a raised decked area. Everything was catered for in the bungalow with lots of information given about the area. Very clean and comfortable. A short walk to a beautiful beach. Will definitely be returning"
JB (October 2022): 2.8 STARS "Exceptional location.Sadly it needs a good deep clean.I spent two days cleaning to remove dead flies ,dirty floors and carpets. The rug is disgusting and the sofas need cleaning. Nice new kitchen but the rest is a little shabby" Thanks for the Review - which are passed on to the Property Owner. The Property Owner has contacted the "Visitor JB" who denied writing the Review or even staying at the Property - a bit of a mystery to us.
F (August 2022): 4.7 STARS "Paradise!. A very bijou property with absolutely stunning views of the sea and the Llyn peninsular. We were very lucky to have booked when there was a heat wave so we spent every day at the beach which is only a 10 minute walk away. I don’t think anyone could ever tire of that view and we spent every evening watching the sunset listening to the sounds oh the waves. I had read the other reviews and was hoping to see dolphins and amazingly we did one evening. The property itself is very clean and comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. The only issue for us was that the garden isn’t fully enclosed where you park your car, so we had to use a wind break and the bins to block our dog from escaping after rabbits. We would definitely book again though as it was such a special place and in such a great location."
KL (August 2022): 5 STARS "Stunning views of the sea and mountains. Comfortable and very well equipped bungalow with everything you need. The views from the living room and decking are the best bit, they are stunning by day and the evening sunsets are beautiful. Our second stay here and would happily return."
GP 02 Jul 2022: 4.7 STARS "Great little bungalow. We found the bungalow a great little place in which to set off to explore Wales. Very good communication from the owner Liz and a lovely location being near to Harlech but away from any main roads. Great view of the sea and some lovely sunsets from the patio area. It’s compact and has everything you need. The garden is nice and simple but I think it could do with a little fence blocking off the driveway and access to the front so if you have a pet they don’t escape."
AC (June 2022); 5 STARS "Excellent holiday. We had a great stay at the bungalow with lovely walks from the door and great beaches nearby. It was great to sit on the deck each evening enjoying the amazing sea view. We also used the train to go to Barmouth & Cricceith, we only used the car once to go to Porthmadog for the Ffestiniog Railway Woodland Wanderer which was a very enjoyable day out. Overall an excellent holiday"
NR (May 2022): 4.5 STARS "Relaxing bungalow in quiet location. Well equipped holiday home. Nice location with good view over the sea. Just a couple of issues. Patio door from lounge area was extremely difficult to open or close and hot water in kitchen was no more than a trickle. Would have no problem with going there again"
PW (May 2022): 4.8 STARS "Excellent position for relaxing or exploring the area, and around the coast, very well equipped, with all you need, dolphins ( if lucky enough ) in the bay. .Of an evening the lights across the bay are nice to see,as well as stroll up the beach of an evening towards shell island over sand dunes to the lagoon and back through the field to spot rabbits tales around 40 minuets.Never tire of the view from this bungalow,as well as good roads to caernarvon, anglesea"
The R Family (April 2022): "This is the second week we have spent at this cottage and, once again, were very comfortable and warm despite the cold, windy weather. L, J & C (Aug 2019): "Thank you! We have had a lovely stay in your holiday house. Enjoyed the view out to sea and we think we saw a dolphin early this morning (or large seal!) Great food at the Blue Lion in Harlech and the Victoria Inn in Llanbedr (great little play area). Lovely comfy beds and great garden area. We got lucky and saw a free display of birds of prey."
P & J (Aug 2019): "Amazing views across bay day and night with lights across the bay. Good views to Caernarfon and Anglesey. Everything you need for a great holiday. Thank you."

J&E (June 2019): "After a lovely spill of warm sunny weather at the start of the week, the inconsistent weather didn't put too much of a dampner on things! In fact, it made us enjoy and appreciate this little house even more! Thank you for the welcome goodies too!"
