Guest Feedback:
JaAs (April 2024): 3.2 STARS
"Lovely location. Don’t think anyone had been in the building recently; it smelled musty and damp and was freezing cold. It would probably suit hikers who are out all day as the heating was off during daytime hours. Log fire was left with burnt out logs inside, not very welcoming! Whilst there were multiple pans and large items of crockery in the cupboards, the only place to store food, other than a small fridge, was a cupboard under the window which had signs of damp inside and a pile of what looked like sandstone on the top. I don’t like giving bad reviews but I feel that potential renters should be aware that, whilst this is a stunning location with gorgeous views, it is in no way suitable for anyone with even the slightest mobility problem or for small children. The steep step from the kitchen to the patio area is actually quite hazardous. This needs to be made clear in any advertising." Thanks for the Review, which are always passed on to the Property Owner. Owner Comment: "I am sorry that the log fire had not been cleaned and relaid an oversight on our part. The heating is on timed but the instructions are provide to override this, so each guest can adjust the heating to suit their needs.
With regard to the patio, STS clearly state in the cottage access statement about care required for children or those unstable on their feet."
JuAb (April 2024): 4.8 STARS "Very cosy. Beautiful little cottage in Beddgelert backing onto the river in a very convenient spot for anyone wanting to walk in The National Park. Owners were super helpful, as were the staff in the local shop, and nothing seemed too much bother. Set in Beautiful surroundings with the mountains all around. Really enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend."
AC (October 2023): Excellent "Beautiful cottage in beautiful surroundings. It had a lovely homely feel and there was lots to do in the area. It was relaxing watching and listening to the river."
LD (September 2023): 4.5 STARS "Great Location. The cottage was quite small on first impressions but the view from the back terrace was fabulous. As we had a wonderful week of sunny weather a lot of our time was spent on the terrace watching the river scene or gazing at the stars in the evening. Well equipped kitchen and the laundry room was a great asset. The bathroom needs attention. Beddgelert is a lovely village in a prime position for mountains and coast." Thanks for the Feedback - which are always passed on to the Property Owners.
SK (July 2023): 4.8 STARS "Lovely Location. The second time we have stayed here, a fabulous location backing on the to the river, shame the weather was not good enough to sit outside and enjoy the fabulous view. Just a short walk to the village for some lovely cafes and shops. Very comfortable and equipped with all we needed for the week. Beddgelert is my favourite place so I'll be back"
SA (June 2023): Excellent "Just WOW. Had such a wonderful stay. The house is clean and has everything you need. You will not want to leave the property, we spent hours just sitting on the patio (even in the rain) There are plenty of places to eat in the village and wonderful walks. Parking was not a problem there is plenty of room just opposite and up the road a bit. We will be booking again"
DF (June 2023): 4.8 STARS "Great location. The location is perfect for the village and walks etc. Cottage is comfortable and clean (although if you are over 6ft you will crack your head at least 5 times a day !!) Good service throughout. I would recommend and would probably stay again although would mention with the bedroom windows open at night you are awoken from 5am everyday from traffic as you are basically 3 meters from the main road in and out of the village"
DW (June 2023): 4.3 STARS "The cottage in an excellent location and next to the river. The cottage is comfortable but some of inside the cottage have poor DIY and maintenance. (They doesn't look quality as shown on the website and the price doesn't reflect the quality of the cottage). Good communication with the owner. We enjoyed staying there for a week holiday with plenty places to visit. we were lucky that the weather was glorious" Thanks for the Feedback - which are always passed on to the Property Owner.

JC (February 2023): 4.7 STARS "Cosy cottage in ideal location. A very warm, welcoming and cosy cottage. Loved watching the dippers in the river and relaxing on the patio in the February sunshine. The cottage has everything you need and the beds were very comfortable. Great location for many walks from the door and for popping into Beddgelert for a drink or a meal. We were lucky to have amazing weather, showing the mountains of Eryri in all their glory! It was the perfect place for a week of much needed rest and relaxation. Would love to return. Thank you"

MD (April 2022): 4.8 STARS "Not the first time I’ve stayed at the excellent Riverside Cottage…it’s an ideal base in a lovely village, with many walks from the front door… The cottage has all the mod cons needed to make for a comfortable stay… Already booked for October this year…"
Mr W (October 2021): Excellent "Everything from booking the cottage on the website to the communications thereafter went smoothly."
Ms H (July 2021): Good "The cottage was ideally situated beside the stream in Beedgelert with walks from the front door. The weather was perfect. I didn't award 5 stars because the living room furniture was rather old and smelled strongly of dogs, not pleasant for those who choose not to have a dog" Info passed on to the Property Owner, who has responded: "Thanks for the feedback. We are planning to change the three piece suite as soon as we can arrange it. We had been looking before lockdown. We usual change and launder the throws on the suite at every changeover but had to remove the throws to meet COVID cleaning standards. We have just returned from the cottage and have replaced the blinds in the kitchen and bathroom. Had all the curtains dry cleaned. Replaced the mattress topper on the double bed and had a new Welsh stone wall built on the patio to replace the crumbling red brick retaining wall." It should be noted that it has been very difficult for Owners living away during this time of Covid as they have been legally prevented from coming to their properties during Lockowns.
Mr C (September 2019): Good "A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting. It is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area."
Mr P (August 2019): Excellent "Lovely cottage with all the essentials covered and shops/pubs/restaurants/cafes nearby. Great cottages and easy online booking have made me a repeat customer."
Mr H (August 2019): Good "Loved this wee cottage and beddgelert in general! Really taken by the area. You can't beat sitting out the back door with the river running passed. Everything within walking distance along the river."
Mr C (July 2019): Excellent "Great cottage great pubs great holiday"
Mr B (June, 2019): Good "Clean, comfortable really well located and cracking courtyard on the river."
Mr H (May, 2019): Excellent "Lovely cottage in a great location."
Ms H (December, 2018): Excellent "Beautifully presented cottage in a great central location. Walks straight from the doorstep with welcoming pubs and village shops. We stayed over Christmas and the owners went a long way to make it special. We arrived to find a beautifully little Christmas tree and windows lit up with a little gift for Christmas day waiting for us. We struggled a little with the economy 7 heating, but we haven't used it previously so I think it was us rather than the heating system itself. A little warning is that the upstairs bedroom box windows open, but are not weighted, so please take care when opening as the sashes just drop."
Mrs O (October, 2018): Excellent"Excellent accommodation with everything you might need in beautiful surroundings. Beds are extremely comfortable. The outdoor area at the back is so nice with the noise of the river rolling by. A relaxing time was had by all."
Mr S (October, 2018): Excellent"So easy with all the help we needed,a wonderful cottage in a lovely village. The rivers and walks were great good pubs were dog friendly."
Miss N (October, 2018): Excellent"Stunning location, beautiful cottage, everything needed was there... magical views..."

Walls are stone and plaster painted white and door and skirting are wood stained. Access to the kitchen/dining room is via a doorway under the stairs. Area contains a bench and a cast iron table and two chairs. An outside light covers this area controlled from inside the lounge.

The first floor has a double and a twin room, one either side of the stairs. The bathroom also contains the WC, a bath with rubber non slip mat available with a shower overhead. Access to the double bedroom is via a step up off the stairway.

Care should be taken with all doorways within the property as they are of uneven and restricted heights. Upstairs has low beams on the landing.

The cottage is actually called Ivy Cottage not Riverside Cottage as it appears on the paperwork, this made picking up the keys tricky at the village shop.
