Walls are stone and plaster painted white and door and skirting are wood stained. Access to the kitchen/dining room is via a doorway under the stairs. Care should be taken with all doorways within the property as they are of uneven and restricted heights. Upstairs has low beams on the landing.
Guest comment: "potential renters should be aware that, whilst this is a stunning location with gorgeous views, it is in no way suitable for anyone with even the slightest mobility problem or for small children. The steep step from the kitchen to the patio area is actually quite hazardous."
Don’t think anyone had been in the building recently; it smelled musty and damp and was freezing cold. It would probably suit hikers who are out all day as the heating was off during daytime hours. Log fire was left with burnt out logs inside, not very welcoming!
Whilst there were multiple pans and large items of crockery in the cupboards, the only place to store food, other than a small fridge, was a cupboard under the window which had signs of damp inside and a pile of what looked like sandstone on the top.
I don’t like giving bad reviews but I feel that potential renters should be aware that, whilst this is a stunning location with gorgeous views, it is in no way suitable for anyone with even the slightest mobility problem or for small children. The steep step from the kitchen to the patio area is actually quite hazardous. This needs to be made clear in any advertising.
Beautiful little cottage in Bedgellert backing onto the river in a very convenient spot for anyone wanting to walk inThe National park.
Owners were super helpful, as were the staff in the local shop, and nothing seemed too much bother.
Set in Beautiful surroundings with the mountains all around.
Really enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend.
The cottage is actually called Ivy Cottage not Riverside Cottage as it appears on the paperwork, this made picking up the keys tricky at the village shop.
The cottage was quite small on first impressions but the view from the back terrace was fabulous. As we had a wonderful week of sunny weather a lot of our time was spent on the terrace watching the river scene or gazing at the stars in the evening. Well equipped kitchen and the laundry room was a great asset. The bathroom needs attention.
Beddgelert is a lovely village in a prime position for mountains and coast.
The second time we have stayed here, a fabulous location backing on the to the river, shame the weather was not good enough to sit outside and enjoy the fabulous view. Just a short walk to the village for some lovely cafes and shops. Very comfortable and equipped with all we needed for the week. Beddgelert is my favourite place so I'll be back.
Had such a wonderful stay. The house is clean and has everything you need. You will not want to leave the property, we spent hours just sitting on the patio (even in the rain) There are plenty of places to eat in the village and wonderful walks. Parking was not a problem there is plenty of room just opposite and up the road a bit. We will be booking again.
The location is perfect for the village and walks etc. Cottage is comfortable and clean (although if you are over 6ft you will crack your head at least 5 times a day !!) Good service throughout. I would recommend and would probably stay again although would mention with the bedroom windows open at night you are awoken from 5am everyday from traffic as you are basically 3 meters from the main road in and out of the village.
The cottage in an excellent location and next to the river. The cottage is comfortable but some of inside the cottage have poor DIY and maintenance. (They doesn't look quality as shown on the website and the price doesn't reflect the quality of the cottage). Good communication with the owner. We enjoyed staying there for a week holiday with plenty places to visit. we were lucky that the weather was glorious.
Another great stay, our second. Love the original woodwork and doors but being right next to the river is the real gem.
A beautiful cottage situated in the perfect location. The cottage had everything that a family of 4 could need.
The village itself was lovely and had everything available on the doorstep.
A great find!
A very warm, welcoming and cosy cottage. Loved watching the dippers in the river and relaxing on the patio in the February sunshine. The cottage has everything you need and the beds were very comfortable. Great location for many walks from the door and for popping into Beddgelert for a drink or a meal. We were lucky to have amazing weather, showing the mountains of Eryri in all their glory! It was the perfect place for a week of much needed rest and relaxation. Would love to return. Thank you.
Overall the cottage was very clean and comfortable. A brilliant location for walking from the door and going to the pub!
This cottage has everything you need very comfortable and in the ideal position sitting out the backyard looking at the river just watching the world go by very relaxing
Very pretty cottage in an excellent location, very convenient for Beddgelert village.
Very comfortable and has everything you need.
Nice to be able to sit outside, right next to the river
