CS (September 2023): 4.3 STARS "A nice property in a brilliant position. However certain appliances iin the kitchen need to be looked at.The icebox in the fridge doesn't shut properly as the handle seems to have been broken off. This makes the top shelf in the fridge wet and unable to be used. Also the settings for the oven have worn off the dial and there were no instructions" Thanks for the Review - which are always passed on the Owner for his consideration.
RB (September 2023): 4.8 STARS "Booking through agent (STS) very easy. Needed to make contact with owner during our stay and had immediate response to our query. Property was clean and tidy with everything we needed. Parking spot next to the apartment so easy to unload luggage. The location is very quiet and peaceful yet only a short walk to shops and amenities. The view so relaxing, no need to venture out as plenty to watch on the river. Would definitely return"
ST (September 2023): 4.8 STARS "This apartment is in an excellent location over looking the river. It was lovely to watch the changing tide and watching the birds. The apartment is ideal for two people and great to have a car parking space right outside the apartment. It was nice to have blackout curtains in the bedroom, I like the bedroom to be dark when I go the sleep. I have found in the past that a lot of holiday lets have fine light weight fabric curtains which don't help with the summer light nights. The sofa and chairs were comfortable as was the bed. All in all a lovely apartment for two people."
GC (September 2023): 4.8 STARS "A lovely holiday. This is a lovely apartment set in a perfect location. We had a great week walking to the local beaches and travelling on different trains, the highlight being the steam train to Caernavon. The maritime museum in the church at Nefyn is well worth a visit. Remember to take a pair of binoculars with you to observe the wildlife from the living room window"
SC (July 2023): Excellent "A lovely apartment. We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. We walked in and immediately loved the views out of the windows. We looked out on to the water with boats right outside. We spent many hours watching the tides, the boats and the bird life. A heron visited regularly and we watched egrets, oyster catchers etc fishing outside. The apartment was thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The bed, sofa and chairs were really comfortable. The apartment was nicely decorated and the shower was good. There was good parking right next to the apartment and it is in a quiet position but close to pubs, restaurants and shops. All in all we had a great week. We thoroughly recommend it and we hope to return in the near future"
RS (June 2023): 4.8 STARS "The location was perfect. The accommodation was perfect for us having been sailors for the past fifty years Ned the comings and goings of the yachts reminded us of our past. The owners had warned us of a red wine stain on the wall and carpet by the previous tenant but we couldn’t see any of it. They must have cleared it before we got there. The place was spotless and every thing had been thought through, down to Welsh oat cakes on our arrival, lounge chairs for the terrace, dvd’s for when it rained(which it didn’t). All in all a good weeks holiday."
GD (June 2023): Excellent "The best apartment that we have stayed in! We have stayed in 4 apartments in Porthmadog over a period of several years, this was the best so far! Two comfortable arm chairs, large patio doors and views onto the harbour, it was brilliant, Milk ready for us to have a cup of tea and a packet of Welsh caked was a good welcome and all that we needed for a relaxing holday"
RP (June 2023): Excellent "Our little gem ! Great base for exploring other areas, of this North West (Wales) coast. Terrific views of the ever changing scenery, created by different daylight and evening sunset (although no sunsets are visible from the apartment) on the mountains and sea coast estuary. Great week, with gorgeous weather, helping the mood !"
AL (April 2023): Excellent "Ideal location. The apartment was as the photos on the STS website and on arrival found everywhere clean, neat and tidy. On the coffee table was a well written information booklet on how to operate the various equipment in the apartment plus advice on places to eat in Porthmadog and advice to book a table in advance, as we found out. Porthmadog town was within walking distance. All in all a very good week spent in the apartment even if we did not go out , there was always plenty to watch on the river or across at the Ffestiniog railway station. We are elderly and the apartment suited us perfectly. One of the trips out we made was to see the Glaslyn Ospreys, which we found very interesting and informative"
JP (October 2022): 4.8 STARS "Lovely to be back again. We enjoyed another comfortable week at Oakley Views, our second visit. Welcome of milk, welsh cakes and flowers was appreciated. The apartment is perfect for the two of us with direct views to the Heritage Train Station (which we come for) but also to the estuary for bird spotting, which we also enjoy very much. The heating and water controls are easy to use and don't need to be on for long for comfort. We enjoy shopping in the High Street - the butcher and fishmonger are particularly good and the kitchen has everything needed to make all our meals. We hope to return as we know that a clean, comfortable property will be waiting for us"
CO (September 2022): 4.5 STARS "Almost 100% perfect. We have stayed in this accommodation before in 2019 whilst it is still a nice apartment it is looking tired and the decor needs freshening up and the carpets need cleaning or replacing. However the location is excellent for the town and for getting around the area. The apartment is well equipped and is peaceful with great views." Thanks for the Feedback - which is passed on to the Proterty Owner.
CL (August 2022): 4.2 STARS "Lovely stay, some comments. We really enjoyed our stay, and the location is excellent. We thought the advance information was quite unwelcoming, with too much COVID expectations which feel no longer necessary and a rather menacing statement of things which will involve losing the deposit. We were told there was no hair dryer, but there was. It was frustrating to find this after we brought our own. In terms of the facilities, there were references to a coffee machine which we could not find." Thanks for the Feedback. With regards Covid Prevention Measures, Covid is still with us (together with a Duty of Care to people, and the Health and Safety at Work Act is still in force), we have not been advised to withdraw the measures that we were advised to put in when we came out of Lockdown. It is up to each individual property owner to carry out their own Risk Assessment. The property is not advertised as having a coffee machine - perhaps there used to be one at the property but now there is not one provided now - possibly due to Covid transmission risk and need to reduce the number of items needing to be disinfected.
LF (July 2022): 4.8 STARS "Great place to stay. This was our second stay here. Lovely apartment, everything you need and more from the generous owners. There was fresh milk milk in the fridge, a gift bag of Welsh oatcakes, lovely fresh sunflowers in the lounge, canisters containing sachets of coffee, tea bags, sugar, fresh sponge and lots of cleaning products… the list goes on. Slight problem with the shower when we stayed but I phoned the owner Paul and it was quickly rectified. I have mobility problems and use a wheelchair for going out which we left outside and is undercover. I managed to get around the apartment well and the shower is great; low level and large. My only positive suggestion would be to put a grab rail in.A good base for exploring and walking but it’s lovely to sit and watch the boats, changing views, wild life and steam trains. If you have a disability the staff at the railway are fab. They have ramps and get you on and off. All in all BRILL and highly recommended."
GH (July 2022): "It was a good stay and we really enjoyed the apartment and area."
GD 02 Jul 2022: Excellent "Everything we expected. Fully equipped accommodation with modern utensils.. Peaceful, yet interesting location in an apartment ideally situated. An ever changing scene through the panoramic French window of the tidal and river flows was fascinating."
CP (June 2022): Excellent "We really enjoyed our little holiday in Portmadog. The flat was conveniently situated for all amenities, and the view was absolutely awesome changing colours often. The whole area is very pretty indeed and beaches are superb too. The property was very comfortable with everything you would need for a pleasant holiday"
RP (June 2022): 4.8 STARS "Excellent accommodation and location .. Ever-changing views. This was our second stay at this lovely apartment . It is so comfortable and a we'll equipped kitchen allows you to be able to cook nice meals in you want some time there to relax. Close to lots of eating places .Shops , trains and great walks .Bonus is allocated parking spot at rear of apartments.Great to see boats coming and going in the Marina ."
AN (May 2022): Excellent "Our second time at Oakley Views. Great location looking over harbour, comfortable property with parking. Easy access to lots of places in North Wales"
JC (MAY 2022): Excellent "Comfy, well positioned accommodations. This apartment is in a great position. You cannot get any nearer the water and harbour activities. Very well maintained with everything needed for two people. Quite area and so easy to walk into town for a coffee etc. if you want something to do take the train around the coast to one of the stops on the Cambrian coast, really super scenery. Good value accommodation, only two niggles. Car park is very tight for a bigger car if the other apartments are occupied. Please lose that great big lamp! It’s not a big room and it takes up a lot of it. You won’t be dissatisfied with this place."
Mrs M (October 2021): Excellent "No problems using the online booking service. Confirmation came straight through. Fantastic apartment. Beautifully clean and warm for our arrival. Good quality furnishings lead to a high level of comfort. Well equipped kitchen. We cook every evening and lacked for nothing. Easy to manage controls for hot water, heating and WiFi. Very many thanks."
Mrs M (October 2021): Excellent "It is always clean and tidy not much in the way of utensils but we don't usually cook much It was a shame we could not go in until 4 but with the present circumstances I suppose that was necessary"
Mr P (September 2021): Excellent "This property is superbly situated by the river and harbour and close to the town. It is well equipped and furnished and is a good base for touring the area."
Mrs W (July 2021): Excellent "Very attractive apartment in lovely position overlooking estuary and boats. Good for bird watching . Handy parking spot just outside apartment. A quiet , peaceful area but within easy reach of High street"
Mr C (June 2021): "Thank you for a lovely holiday in Oakley Views: I hope we can return sometime."
Mr N (October 2020): Excellent "The apartment was clean and tidy, it was a little cold at times and we had to adjust the heating but although we had beautiful sunshine the weather had turned colder. The apartment was well equipped and convenient for lovely walks and for the town. Unfortunately, due to the Covid restrictions it did limit us from eating out and shopping as we are in our 80s. We thought the patio windows could have been cleaned so the view of the harbour would have been clearer.
Overall we had an enjoyable week. Thank you"

Mr B (Jan 2020): Excellent"Great apartment, fantastic location, warm, clean and comfortable throughout!"
Mrs G (November 2019): Excellent"The apartment was absolutely lovely, warm & cosy with a calm atmosphere in a perfect location on the harbour (although I'm biased as I was born in the town).... Would thoroughly recommend this property & we hope to go back some time next year."
Mrs B (October, 2019) Excellent"Everything in this apartment is lovely ,warm and comfortable. Location is great overlooking the harbour. Also easy flat walking to the town and steam trains!"
Mrs M (October, 2019):Excellent"Everything you needed very clean and comfortable great location!"
Mr G (Sept 2019) : Excellent "Great place to stay, every thing was excellent will go there any time."
Mr T (June, 2019):Excellent"Excellent location, clean and very comfortable apartment. Close to many amenities and local attractions - perfect!"
Mr P (May, 2019):Excellent"As I have stayed in this property before I knew what expect. The location is the best in Porthmadog."
Mr T (April, 2019):Excellent"Great apartment.. Cosy and warm. It was our second visit here and we hope to visit again."

Visit Wales Comments (March 2019):
"Set with harbour views this ground floor flat comes together well and offers most attractive accommodation for a couple. The flat is attractively presented with modern kitchen and bathroom. Comfortable bedroom and a lounge which makes best use of the location."
Overall Quality Percentage: 82%

This ground floor flat is in a purpose built holiday property. Approach is from a quiet no through road into a semi enclosed tarmac parking area with dedicated parking 10 meters from the front door.

The designated parking is suitable for one vehicle and is in a well-lit area just 10yds from the property. Access to the flat is up one concrete step. The flat has a standard size solid wood front door leading into a compact hall area. From this area there are doors to the bathroom, bedroom and the open plan living area with galley kitchen. From the living area there is a sliding patio door to the patio which is down one step and garden which is down a further 2 steps.

There is good lighting throughout the property with both a ceiling light and a lamp in the living area, a spotlights in the kitchen area and ceiling lights and matching bedside lamps in the bedroom.

The shower room has a WC, hand wash basin and a large shower tray and shower door. The shower is electric and there is very small step into the shower. Again there is good light with a ceiling light and shaving socket and light.

The flat is quite compact and not suitable for wheelchairs.

There is no barrier to the harbour wall.
