The fact that this was our 33rd stay says it all! The wonderful view is ever changing yet always the same.
An ever changing view of the tidal estuary with an added bonus of seeing the steam trains. 10 out 10
A lovely, restful place to stay with a superb view of the mountains and busy river. 5 mins' walk to everything. Comfortable, cosy, well-equipped accommodation with a patio to sit on and watch the boats and trains. Adjacent to a ship chandlers which adds to the interest with friendly staff going about their work. Not an intrusion on your stay. We have every intention of going there again.
My husband and i had a lovely week at Oakley Cottage .It is in a lovely quiet area and has superb views. We hope to visit again as we loved it.
The cottage was well set out, well equipped and spacious. The patio was lovely to sit out on and the dogs were very content to watch the seagulls and flop in the sun.
We watched boats going and out, trains go up and down and had a good chat with the boatyard lads who were very friendly.
Definitely a return visit next year!
After a challenging winter we arrived at Porthmadog in need of a relaxing spring break. The owner of Oakley Cottage had taken great care to make sure we had everything necessary to make this happen. The well-equipped kitchen, large free-view TV and good internet connection ensured our week of watching the tide and viewing the distant steam trains got off to a good start. We found the cottage conveniently placed for the high street in Porthmadog, yet far enough out of town to enjoy the tranquillity we needed.
