The 'Crows' Nest' (ref 1074) and 'The Bridge' (ref 1174) are the 'ground' and '1st floor' apartments of a superb Victorian house on Garth Road above the harbour in Porthmadog. Normally booked separately, they can be booked in combination for families that would like a bit of independence. Both are comfortable well-furnished apartments occupying the entire top 2 floors of this period house, but with access from the rear at the ground floor level through a sunny back garden. They both have superb birds' eye views overlooking the harbour, Glaslyn estuary & the Snowdonia mountains. They also have their own access, but for families that wish to book both together an internal private staircase can be left unlocked. The kitchen/diner and lounge of 'The Bridge' is spacious for 5 guests to relax and enjoy the view across Porthmadog harbour and towards the Snowdonia mountains.

These apartments is in a good central location for a holiday property in North Wales with uninterrupted views down to the steam train station that you can sit and watch the trains crossing the Cob on their journey up to Ffestiniog. The Welsh Highland Railway is fully restored for a highly scenic journey to Beddgelert, through the spectacular Aberglaslyn Gorge and on up to Caernarfon. It is a five minute walk down the hill into Porthmadog and its historic harbour for excellent shops, cafes, steam train rides and maritime museum. It takes a little longer to walk back up the hill . A 15 minute walk along in front of the house takes you to Borth y Gest half a mile away, with it's harbour, cafes and beautiful sandy coves reached along the coastal path beyond the village. The vast sandy beaches at Morfa Bychan (Black Rock sands) and the crescent sands of Samson's Bay are 2 miles away.

I have just completed tests for Angina and have osteo arthritis of the knees so have great difficulty in walking up the hill. Knowledge of the steep hill would have helped. Can I just add that we are very happy with the property"
