Guest Feedback:
TA (July 2023):
Excellent "Stunning cottage stunning views. Had a relaxing break in this wonderfully restored modern cottage. Everything had been well thought of. Had no issues at all. Would love to come back"
AM (July 2023): Excellent "Loved it!. It is an incredible place to stay - we love it! love the remoteness, views and property itself....."
HT (May 2023): Excellent "Remote tranquility with unbeatable views most modern comforts. Cowslips is an absolute gem. It’s modern, very well equipped, offers plenty of space and is miraculously close to everything that matters in and around Eryri while at the same time offering near total privacy, if you don’t count the somewhat bewildered looks of sheep and cows. The views are absolutely fantastic, and to sit in the sun on the veranda and watch clouds draw shapes on the landscape is just plain serene. Towels and bedding were fresh and smelled wonderful. All necessities are taken into account and amenities are provided, like a couple dishwasher tabs, laundry pods, tea towels, a new sponge, etc. There are two things you need to be ready for: A drive up a single-lane road that will give new drivers and nervous passengers a mild panic attack, and a very shaky and oftentimes unavailable internet connection. The latter can be corrected and we’ll leave some separate feedback how that could be done. But let’s be honest, you wouldn’t consider holidays in Wales if you’d be bothered by either of these. We only had one hiccup during our stay – a power cut, the fault of Scottish Power. Our contact with STS on that day has been absolutely exemplary – we were immediately offered a night in an empty property which we didn’t end up needing. This was our second holiday let from STS and will recommend them to absolutely anyone. We enjoyed every minute in the house and are already looking for future dates to be back"
The S Family (Christmas 2022): Excellent "Sensational place, STS Holidays put in a lot of extra effort for our stay over Christmas."
MP (September 2022): 4.7 STARS "A lovely converted cottage , if you want a week of complete rest , tranquility, amazing views and see only the occasional other human being, you will love this place"
AJ (August 2022): 4.3 STARS "Very relaxing. The drive to the cottage with a large care was the Englishman’s answer to the ultimate laxative. Great views once you get there."
JC (August 2022): Excellent "Perfect. Beautiful property in a stunning location for great value for money. I would very much like to stay again."

HLJ (July 2022): 4.8 STARS "The view, the view, the view. We stayed at cowslips cottage expecting a lovely view of the Glaslyn estuary, however we were blown away with what we saw. The drive up to the cottage is a tricky one up narrow roads, but as you climb out of the valley you get glimpses of the view that awaits you at the cottage. We were truly amazed by the location and also the modern comforts on offer at the cottage. The super modern kitchen had all the amenities and utensils, the lounge was beautiful with the exposed stone walls and the bedrooms were comfortable. Although remote, we didn’t feel too detached from modernity. We passed our evenings sat in the window looking at the ever-changing view in the valley below. On our final night there we sat outside to see the stars and they were magnificent."
J, A, A & E Excellent (July 2021): "An incredible cottage, fantastic views and just so peaceful and relaxing. Loved everything about our stay here and our girls loved having the calves come to the bedroom window and lick the windows! So quiet and a perfect location to explore from. Will definitely be coming back, thank you."
J & K Excellent (April 2021): "We had a fantastic few days, absolutely loved the cottage, it was a welcome retreat after an awful year. This is my idea of perfection, peace and quiet – only sheep for neighbours. The cottage is so comfortable and I could sit on the patio all day staring at the view! We ate, drank and slept well; I’m just working out when to come back. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cottage."
Mr F (October 2021): "Cowslips cottage is well appointed and in a stunning location with magnificent views across the bay to the sea. But slightly let down by small details that could be easily addressed. On arrival we thought the cleanliness could have been better, we found the kitchen sink plug had what looked like a piece of tomato in it, the bath wasn't clean. We went to use the cafetiere but it had someone else old coffee in it. Everything else was spotless. Kitchen doors were loose and didn't fit and so were the drawers. Please also buy a new kettle as it dribbles everywhere." Thanks for bringing these matters to our attention - we will investigate/repair as appropriate.
