This impressive house is situated on the bay in the picturesque seaside village of Borth y Gest, 1 mile from Porthmadog. There are lovely views of the bay through the windows at the front of the house. The comfortable sitting room has sofas and chairs near the bay window to enjoy the views with a dining area towards the back. The other 'front room' has had a complete redesign and is now a seating area and ultra modern kitchen with breakfast bar. Also on the ground floor is a shower room and utility room. The four upstairs bedrooms sit on the corners of the house. Two small singles overlook the garden and the two main rooms enjoy the views of the bay and Snowdonia mountains on the showers of the Dwyryd river. There is a small family bathroom also on this floor. The views of the bay and the mountains beyond can be enjoyed whilst ambling along the footpaths to numerous small sandy bays and quiet coves which are on the Welsh Coastal footpath to either Black Rock Sands or Porthmadog. More walks are available through the nature reserves behind the village where the ancient ruins take you up Moel Y Gest Mountain. Built around its own crescent bay with a small slipway and boat moorings, there are marvellous views across the tidal bay and estuary towards Portmeirion Village and Snowdonia mountains from Borth y Gest. The village boasts a restaurant and cafe where time stays still as you watch the tide flow in. Porthmadog has a variety of shops and good eating places, 2 narrow gauge railways with steam engines, a golf course and museums. Must-do's in the area include Portmeirion village (3.6ml), Criccieth Castle and ice cream (5.9ml), Beddgelert mountain village at the foot of Snowdon (8.6ml), Llanberis lake, museums and train rides including a scenic trip up Snowdon. This is a good central location for a holiday property in North Wales - stay and relax or tour to your heart's content.

Mrs L (August 2021): Neutral "Keysafe difficult to open. The cleaning in the bathrooms needs to be more thorough. Corners round the loos etc. Microwave needs replacing. Table should be in kitchen. Upstairs bathroom update. Appreciate it is an old cottage. Still lovely cottage and location we had a lovely holiday." The Feedback has been passed on to the Property Owner and his Deputy. Street parking in front of and to the side of the house not too far from the front door. Access to the house is then by 1 (4cm) easy rise step to the front of the house (lounge/diner and Kitchen). There is access to the garden from the side road.

All doorways are standard 2'6" hallway too narrow for wheelchairs to manoeuvre.

All bedrooms upstairs. 1 bathroom is upstairs. 1 shower room/wc downstairs. There is staggered landing with a small platform at the top of the stairs with 3 steps leading off. One step up to a small bedroom, one step up to the bathroom and one step leading to the landing with the 3 other bedrooms.

There are no grab handles in the property.

On the back of the house there are three steps down to access the back garden through a gate.
