This large semi detached house on the bay has been modified into two apartments; Anchor Deck (this apartment) occupying the ground floor and Top Sail (ref. 1151) occupying the first and second floor. Both apartments have their own separate access. Borth y Gest is a tranquil village where there is no through traffic and its more discerning visitors just come here to relax and enjoy the coastal walks and beautiful scenery. The village has a tea room, coffee shop (highly recommended!), two bistros and an old fashioned petrol station/garage. From the doorstep there are excellent views, cliff and coastal walks as well as plenty of hill walking, playground for the children and a nature reserve. Across the tidal bay and estuary is the Portmeirion peninsula, Harlech castle and the majestic Snowdonia mountains. Beddgelert and Snowdon are just 8 miles away. This is a great central location for a holiday property in North Wales.

GARDEN: Small patio at the front of the house with bench for 2. A small stone's throw away is the beach.

HEATING & ELECTRICITY: Gas central heating and electricity included. PLEASE NOTE that electricity is included only for the facilities provided at the property. CHARGING ELECTRIC CARS is PROHIBITED for fire and electrocution safety reasons, the closest charging point is at Porthmadog Tesco car park.

PARKING: Unrestricted street parking. There is a space at the side of the house for unloading and loading luggage.

Mini-break rules at this cottage: A mini-break is a holiday for less than a week and/or may start on a day which isn't the normal changeover day (Saturday).
This property owner will only accept mini-breaks at short notice - not more than 14 days before the starting date of the holiday between April to October.
However, mini-breaks are allowed at any time between November to March (NOT including Christmas, New Year's Eve and February Half Term weeks).


Please note: A returnable £100 Good Housekeeping Deposit will be required before we can give the key safe code. Offloading is near the door, but parking is on the road about 10m away. The surface is Tarmac. There are 2 easy rise steps of about 5 inches high up to the front door where there is another small raise over the upvc door threshold. The steps run along the wall to the front door and not towards it meaning there is a 90 degree turn to go in to the door. There is a low 30 inch high wall on the right which may restrict wheelchairs. All rooms are on the same level and doors are of standard width., The shower room has a walk in shower with a small rise of about 2 inches. No hand rails.

A good stay,lovely position but it did feel as though it needed a bit of TLC, the boiler for the heating needed attention, the dishwasher wasn't working andthe outside area needed tidying, also some information about the flat would have been useful

Incorrect oven instructions so could not cook meal the night we arrived, fault with soap dispenser in dish-washer, heating switched off so did not come on automatically as per instructions and kitchen sink in poor condition. In addition, no tray/bread bin/biscuit tin/food storage containers/washing up bowl/casserole dishes/kitchen towel/tin foil/bin liners/re-cycling facilities and only one roll of toilet paper provided! We operate a holiday let ourselves and ensure that all necessary information regarding heating, cooking and re-cycling are clearly displayed on the wall and that all the requisite day to day items are provided, including spare toilet paper. For the amount of money that clients are charged we consider that it needs to be like a 'home from home' and more thought needs to be put in to making this flat feel that way.
