On the northern ridge of the Nantlle valley, facing south towards the sea, amazing views await you on top of the Snowdonia mountains. Situated within 5 minutes walk to the village of Fron and five mile drive from Caernarfon the properties provides a relaxing retreat and a convenient base for exploring Snowdonia mountains and coast. Wonderful views from most rooms of the Eifl mountains, Caernarfon bay and Nantlle valley. Snowdon can be seen from the bottom of the lane at the head of the Nantlle valley. Plenty of inspiring walks from the doorstep; one of the most interesting walks takes you through the Old Dorothea slate quarry, shrubs and trees are taking over now but abandoned historic machinery and slate mounds have become an intergrated part of this dramatic and beautiful landscape. The award winning sandy beach at Dinas Dinlle (3ml) nearby has three miles of gently sloping sandy beach, sand dunes and rock pools. The iron age fort is long gone but the ramparts are still there whilst the sea eats at the base of it's boulder clay mound. A small airfield just outside Dinas Dinlle has a museum and offers flights over Snowdon. Caernarfon (5ml) is an interesting harbour town dominated by its castle and town walls with small shops in the old narrow streets, boat trips, roman museum and fort. Interesting choice of restuarants in the old town. The Welsh Highland Railway trains now start from Caernarfon and pass the foot of Snowdon and then onward to Porthmadog. Ffestiniog railway at Porthmadog (17ml) up the valley to Blaenau Ffestiniog (28ml) and the Titan ZipWire. Choice of pony trekking locally.
