We love this little gem up near the hills and lakes of Snowdonia - a walker's paradise! Situated in the mountain village of Gellilydan, near 'Zip World' and 'Bounce Below' at Blaenau Ffestiniog (4ml), this terraced cottage has woodland walks to waterfalls from the doorstep. Homely and comfortably prepared with some nice finishing touches, including a warm fire in the hearth waiting for your return at the end of the day exploring the heart of Snowdonia. A historical stagecoach route passes nearby to the village of Maentwrog and the Grapes Hotel or the Oakley Arms, both of which serve food. Porthmadog is 10 miles down the Ffestiniog Valley to the sandy coast of Black Rock Sands. The Ffestiniog Railway steam train station, multifarious shops, boat rides, leisure centre are based in Porthmadog. Mountain biking forestry tracks in Coed y Brenin (10 ml). Trawsfynydd lake (8ml), Dolgellau and Cader Idris (16ml).

Mini-break rules at this cottage: A mini-break is a holiday for less than a week and/or may start on a day which isn't the normal changeover day (Saturday). This property owner will only accept mini-breaks at short notice - not more than 21 days before the starting date of the holiday.

We strongly recommend that you take our Cancellation Protection (see Terms & Conditions). If you continue you will notice that during the next booking steps this will automatically be selected for you and the price will increase, so simply de-select them on the bookings screen if you already have holiday insurance or if you do not want any cover.

The Pet Charge for all properties accepting pets is £20 per pet.

After your stay, we ask you kindly to please leave the property as it is found, in a clean and tidy manner. This includes replacing the furniture, emptying all internal bins, clean and put away plates etc., clean work tops and surfaces and hoover the floors.

No Smoking: We want all our guests to enjoy an odour free environment when they arrive at their property. We therefore prohibit smoking within the premises in ALL our properties. A 'Refreshing Charge' will be levied on guests who smoke in properties. A No Smoking Policy may form part of a property's statutory Fire Risk Assessment.

Mini-breaks & Weekends: Bookings that are for less than 7 nights are only bookable within 21 days (some properties are within a different amount of days) of the start date of the holiday. Weekend booking requests that do not start or end on a property's usual change-over day or cross over more than 1 week, are at the discretion of the property owner. Access Statement

The two story terraced cottage is approached off the main road and up a public footpath. There is parking for one car opposite the property. From the parking space there is a gravelled area and then the public footpath which consists of a rough uneven track. There are two steps up to the front door.
The ground floor is on one level although the original slate floor is uneven. The living room has a colour TV with remote control, DVD and a CD player. There is good lighting and most power points are at ground level. The doorway from the living room to the kitchen is approximately 74cm. The kitchen is galley style with approximate width between units of 57cm. Electric sockets in kitchen are at worktop level. Entry to the bathroom is off the kitchen with a sliding door and a step up to a bath with shower unit over. There is a pull light fitting. The rear entry door has a step down to a paved rear area. The staircase to the second floor measures approximately 66cm in width. There is a mains light.

The top of the staircase is approximately 33cm in width and this leads to a landing off which there are two bedrooms.The main bedroom has good lighting with bedside lights and dressing table lights as well as overhead lighting. Access to the bed can be gained from both sides. Light sockets are approximately 130cm in height, with electrical sockets at floor level.
The second bedroom is compact, access is limited. Light sockets are approximately 130cm height, with electrical sockets at floor level.Upstairs there is a toilet with hand basin. There is a garden outside the property to the front. Access is via a graveled area and a gate. There is a graveled path which leads to a seating area.
