Experience a stay in a little cottage in the small hamlet of Soar, a mile from the village of Talsarnau. This cute little cottage is one of two situated above the hamlet with elevated views from its sunny windows. A lovely romantic retreat for couples wanting to chill out in this undiscovered part of the Snowdonia National Park. There are woodland and river walks nearby, the village of Talsarnau is a mile walk along a country lane to the 'Ship Aground' pub and Cambrian Coast Railway halt. The sandy beaches at Harlech and Shell Island are within a 10 - 15 minute drive and the wet land shores of the Dwyryd river are 2.5 mls away for bird watching, which may include our summer visitor the Osprey between March and September. Good central location for the Snowdonia mountains, Portmeirion village (4 mls) the beaches and steam trains at Porthmadog (5 mls) and the castle, historic village and sandy beach at Harlech (5 mls).
3 BEDROOMS: One compact Double (4 foot bed) bedroom (access to bed is from one side only), one small Single bedroom and one Double futon in crog loft above the lounge with low head room, open stairs which are slightly narrower and steeper than usual and open roof trusses to lounge space. Not suitable for young children or the infirm. Bed linen is provided, please bring your own "bath towels" (hand towels are provided).
SHOWER ROOM: Small shower room and WC with electric shower in cubicle and small hand wash basin.
KITCHEN AREA: Part of the living area with electric hob and oven, fridge and microwave oven.
DINING AREA & LOUNGE AREA: Inglenook fireplace housing a wood burning stove, Freeview TV & DVD.
GARDEN: Large terraced garden to the front of the cottage. New pizza BBQ smoker available!
PARKING: Quiet parking 50m from house
HEATING: Electric heaters and an open wood burner fire.
ELECTRICITY: Electricity included. Starter pack of log available (logs available from Spar in Harlech).
EXTRA: Access to the cottage is by a footpath only (30m with 18 steps)
PETS: Maximum of two small pets.
TOWELS: No but hand towels are provided.

(August, 2018): "A beautiful cottage - perfect location, lovely layout really beautifully decorated and set up for families. All the things you need for a week. Love the flowers and welcome on arrival. Lovely owners who are friendly and welcoming and have good tips for the local area. We went to Harlech Beach and the beach further along - stunning Puffin Island - has no puffins at the time but was a good boat trip from Beaumaris. We climbed Llanberis path up Snowdon, took 5 hours, a hard route up with amazing views on a good day. The pizza oven was fun although couldn't find the instructions so the bottom very black. Beautiful garden and area. Thank you so much, we will recommend and hopefully return soon."

The Pet Charge for all properties accepting pets is £20 per pet.
After your stay, we ask you kindly to please leave the property as it is found, in a clean and tidy manner. This includes replacing the furniture, emptying all internal bins, clean and put away plates etc., clean work tops and surfaces and hoover the floors.
No Smoking: We want all our guests to enjoy an odour free environment when they arrive at their property. We therefore prohibit smoking within the premises in ALL our properties. A 'Refreshing Charge' will be levied on guests who smoke in properties. A No Smoking Policy may form part of a property's statutory Fire Risk Assessment.
Mini-breaks & Weekends: In most cases, bookings that are for less than 7 nights in the season (Easter to the end of October) are only bookable at short notice. Out of season (November to last week before Easter) is more flexible. The mini-break rules for each property is stated on the description. Weekend booking requests that do not start or end on a property's change-over day or cross over more than 1 week, are at the discretion of the property owner. Please feel free to call us to discuss your requirements.
Access is via a path with an incline and 17 slate steps up to the house. Rooms are compact and unsuitable for walking aids.
