STS Grade 3

*New Property Listed December 2019*

Amazing views await you at this cosy cottage in the mountains of Snowdonia. The owners take pride in preparing the holiday home for a comfortable and carefree stay. Close to the village of Fron and 5ml from Caernarfon the cottage provides a relaxing retreat and a convenient base for exploring Snowdonia. Wonderful views from most rooms of the Eifl mountains and Nantlle valley and ridge that lead towards Snowdon. There are some inspiring walks from the bungalow; one of the most interesting walks takes you through the Old Dorothea slate quarry, shrubs and trees are taking over now but abandoned historic machinery and slate mounds have become an intergrated part of this dramatic and beautiful landscape. The award winning sandy beach at Dinas Dinlle nearby has 3 miles of gently sloping shore line, sand dunes and rock pools. A small airfield just outside Dinas Dinlle has a museum and offers flights over Snowdonia. Caernarfon is an interesting harbour town dominated by its castle and town walls with small shops in the old narrow streets, boat trips, roman museum and fort. Interesting choice of restuarants in the old town. The Welsh Highland Railway trains now start from Caernarfon and pass the foot of Snowdon and then onward to Porthmadog. The closest Steam Railway Station to Branwen Cottage is Waunfawr, which is 12 minutes drive away from the cottage (4 miles).
