Within a short 2 minute walk from the beach is this family house in the village of Borth y Gest, 1  mile  from Porthmadog. Ideal  for family get togethers with its large dining area and a living room with views across the small crescent shaped bay to the mountains of Snowdonia. The rooms are bright and spacious and there is an elevated patio area at the rear. The village has a nice restaurant, tea room and there are interesting paths to private sandy coves and woodlands. In Porthmadog you will be spoilt for choice in shops, restaurants etc. Steam trains travel across the causeway regularly to the delight of young and old alike, a leisure centre is located at the other end of town. Portmeirion village is just a 3 mile walk across the causeway. Cricieth town and castle  are 5 miles down the road, Snowdon and the village of Beddgelert is a beautiful 20 minute drive away. Gestiana House is very central to visit the castles, beaches and lakes of Snowdonia.

Mini-break rules at this cottage: A mini-break is a holiday for less than a week and/or may start on a day which isn't the normal changeover day (Saturday). This property owner will only accept mini-breaks at short notice - not more than 14 days before the starting date of the holiday.

Please note: A returnable £100 Good Housekeeping Deposit may be required at our discretion before we can give the key safe code. Our experience shows that this procedure results in an all round better holiday for everyone, as our holiday home owners are prepared to offer better quality properties for guests and all guests fully respect the property and so make manageable the process of  preparing the property for the next guest's full enjoyment. Nearly all our guests are respectful people where the bond is fully returned. We have a high proportion of returning guests who are appreciative of our service and the high standard of accommodation that we strive to provide. We strongly recommend that you take our Cancellation Protection (see Terms & Conditions). If you continue you will notice that during the next booking steps this will automatically be selected for you and the price will increase, so simply de-select them on the bookings screen if you already have holiday insurance or if you do not want any cover.

The Pet Charge for all properties accepting pets is £20 per pet.

After your stay, we ask you kindly to please leave the property as it is found, in a clean and tidy manner. This includes replacing the furniture, emptying all internal bins, clean and put away plates etc., clean work tops and surfaces and hoover the floors.

No Smoking: We want all our guests to enjoy an odour free environment when they arrive at their property. We therefore prohibit smoking within the premises in ALL our properties. A 'Refreshing Charge' will be levied on guests who smoke in properties. A No Smoking Policy may form part of a property's statutory Fire Risk Assessment.

Mini-breaks & Weekends: Bookings that are for less than 7 nights are only bookable within 21 days (some properties are within a different amount of days) of the start date of the holiday. Weekend booking requests that do not start or end on a property's usual change-over day or cross over more than 1 week, are at the discretion of the property owner. Sea Captains home of yore just a couple of minutes from the coastal footpath, beach and Borth y Gest Village. STS grade 2. Homely, a little old fashioned but in a great location.
