Within a short 2 minute walk from the beach is this family house in the village of Borth y Gest, 1 mile from Porthmadog. Ideal for family get togethers with its large dining area and a living room with views across the small crescent shaped bay to the mountains of Snowdonia. The rooms are bright and spacious and there is an elevated patio area at the rear. The village has a nice restaurant, tea room and there are interesting paths to private sandy coves and woodlands. In Porthmadog you will be spoilt for choice in shops, restaurants etc. Steam trains travel across the causeway regularly to the delight of young and old alike, a leisure centre is located at the other end of town. Portmeirion village is just a 3 mile walk across the causeway. Cricieth town and castle are 5 miles down the road, Snowdon and the village of Beddgelert is a beautiful 20 minute drive away. Gestiana House is very central to visit the castles, beaches and lakes of Snowdonia.
4 BEDROOMS: 1 Kingsize bedroom and sea views (a Guest has left a review saying it is not Kingsize - we are investigating), 1 Double bedroom with partial sea views, 1 Twin bedroom and 1 Single bedroom. Bed linen provided.

Mrs C (July 2021): "We had a fabulous holiday in Borth Y Gest. The house is in a fabulous position looking over the bay and the mountains. We were so lucky with the weather and spent a lot of time sitting, admiring the view and watching the trains chuff across the cob. The house isn't perfect - it has obviously been a well loved family home - but it's well equipped, has lots of bathrooms and it suited our family of teenagers well."
Dr K (July 2021): "Amazing views and the property was very well equipped and lots of bathrooms with nice powerful showers. Great outside terrace. Main bedroom bed not a King size bed as stated in the description. Patio areas in need of a tidy up and property could be updated but overall a lovely home in a fantastic location. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and overall great value for the cost." We are checking with Property Owner regarding the size of the bed.

Mini-break rules at this cottage: A mini-break is a holiday for less than a week and/or may start on a day which isn't the normal changeover day (Saturday). This property owner will not accept mini-breaks in school holidays. Out of season, they will accept mini-breaks 56 days before the start date of the holiday.
Please note: A returnable £100 Good Housekeeping Deposit may be required at our discretion before we can give the key safe code. Our experience shows that this procedure results in an all round better holiday for everyone, as our holiday home owners are prepared to offer better quality properties for guests and all guests fully respect the property and so make manageable the process of preparing the property for the next guest's full enjoyment. Nearly all our guests are respectful people where the bond is fully returned. If you continue you will notice that during the next booking steps this will automatically be selected for you and the price will increase, so simply de-select them on the bookings screen if you already have holiday insurance or if you do not want any cover.
The Pet Charge for all properties accepting pets is £20 per pet.
After your stay, we ask you kindly to please leave the property as it is found, in a clean and tidy manner. This includes replacing the furniture if you have moved them, emptying all internal bins, clean and put away plates etc., clean work tops and surfaces and hoover the floors.
No Smoking: We want all our guests to enjoy an odour free environment when they arrive at their property. We therefore prohibit smoking within the premises in ALL our properties. A 'Refreshing Charge' will be levied on guests who smoke in properties. A No Smoking Policy may form part of a property's statutory Fire Risk Assessment.
Mini-breaks & Weekends: In most cases, bookings that are for less than 7 nights in the season (Easter to the end of October) are only bookable at short notice. Out of season (November to last week before Easter) is more flexible. The mini-break rules for each property is stated on the description. Weekend booking requests that do not start or end on a property's change-over day or cross over more than 1 week, are at the discretion of the property owner. Victorian terraced house. Street parking with pavement walkway. Step up tot he frot petio and then an easy rise step into the house. Long corridonr with stairs onthe right. Too narrow for a large wheel chair. step down from the original house footprint to the sun room/loounge at the back of the house. Toilet and shower room on the ground floor with 1 step up. All bedrooms and the other bathrooms are up stairs. Original to the house - a little bit narrower and steeper than modern staircases. Outside space to the rear accessed from the utility room orthe patio doors to a small patio 3m x3m with steps down to another patio and then to a gate.
