A walk from the cottage over the hills to a large fishing lake at the base of the Rhiniogau mountain is only 1ml. The old stagecoach road will take you to the village of Maentwrog where you can relax at 'The Grapes Inn'. The 3 mile long sweep of Black-Rock sands bay is 10ml as are the glorious sands at Harlech and the harbour town of Porthmadog. Steam train, Maritime & Motor museums, & sea fishing (10ml). Excellent mountain biking forestry tracks 10ml
