An unique experience to stay in a little cottage in the small hamlet of Soar, half a mile from the village of Talsarnau. This cute little cottage is one of two situated above the hamlet with elevated views from its sunny windows. A lovely romantic retreat for couples wanting to chill out in this undiscovered part of the Snowdonia National Park. There are woodland and river walks nearby, the village of Talsarnau is a half mile walk along a country lane to the 'Ship Aground' pub and Cambrian Coast Railway halt. The sandy beaches at Harlech and Borth y Gest are within a 10 minute drive and the wet land shores of the Dwyryd river are 2.5mls away for bird watching, which may include our summer visitor the Osprey. Good central location for Beddgelert and the Snowdon mountains (7ml), Portmeirion village (4ml) the beaches and steam trains at Porthmadog (5ml) and the castle, historic village and sandy beach at Harlech (3ml).

3 BEDROOMS: 1 compact double bedroom (access to bed is from one side only), 1 bunk in a tiny bedroom and 1 double futon in Crog loft above the lounge with low head room and up open stairs which are slightly narrower and steeper than usual. Linen and towels are provided.
SHOWER ROOM:
Small shower room and WC with electric shower in cubicle and small hand wash basin.
KITCHEN AREA: Part of the living area with electric hob and oven, fridge and microwave oven.
DINING AREA & LOUNGE AREA: Inglenook fireplace housing a wood burning stove, Freeview TV, 'Freesat' channels, and DVD.
GARDEN: Large terraced garden to the front of the cottage
PARKING: Quiet parking 50m from house
HEATING: Electric heaters.
ELECTRICITY: Electricity included. (Logs available from garage in Talsarnau)
EXTRA: Access to the cottage is by a footpath only (30m with 18 steps)

Visit Wales Comments: 4177 provides a good standard of accommodation for guests with an open plan lounge/ diner/ kitchen. Welcoming log burner in the inglenook fireplace, other heating provided by loose heaters in the bedrooms.  The 3 bedrooms  are very compact indeed, and the shower room is also small but adequate. Overall a pleasant property in tranquil environment.

MINIBREAKS & WEEKENDS: Bookings that are for less than a week are only bookable within 28 days of the start date of the holiday. Weekend booking requests that do not start or end on a properties usual change over day are at the discretion of the property owner.
