STS Grade 3 This is a large stone family house situated on the riverside in the delightful mountain resort village of Beddgelert . When it was built around 1880 it served as the tap room for the Royal Goat Hotel. Today it is a family home with comfortable furniture and furnishings contemporary to the age of the building it offers an excellent location for family get togethers in this delightful village in the heart of Snowdonia . The house is in the centre of the village with easy access to a choice of cafes, restaurants and pubs. There are several interesting walks to enjoy in and around the village. Visit Gelerts grave, walk the fishermans path to Aberglaslyn or climb Graig Llan. It is the ideal base to climb Snowdon or Moel Hebog . Pony treks are available locally, cycles may be hired, fishing permits are available and for the more adventurous Plas y Brenin outdoor centre is only 12 miles away. The Welsh Highland Railway runs to Caernarfon (12miles) and later this year will run to Porthmadog (7miles). Porthmadog is on the coast and has shops, restaurants and supermarkets. There are sandy beaches nearby at Borth y Gest and Morfa Bychan . Several castles are nearby; Caernarfon, Harlech and Criccieth and for golfers Porthmadog is one of several courses that may be easily reached.
