Longer hikes from the house lead along the shore to Black Rock Sands and the castle town of Cricieth, or through oak woods up to the top of Moel y Gest mountain behind the village. This comfortable house is situated in a quiet elevated position with panoramic views of the Snowdonian mountains from the upstairs main bedroom and of the estuary and surrounding mountains. Original features include exposed wooden floorboards in the hall, master bedroom and bathroom, naturally sealed with a sea-washed appearance. Borth y Gest is a gem to discover, nestling around a crescent bay with no through traffic; a small friendly village with a shop, tea room and restaurant, children's playground and garage. The lively harbour town of Porthmadog is a mile away, with a wide variety of shops, cafes and restaurants, The Ffestiniog Steam Railway and the Welsh Highland Railway. The famous italianate village of Portmeirionand the highest mountain in England and Wales, Snowdon, are close by. This is a good central location for a holiday property in North Wales .
